    Justin Gilbert has been released.

What a shame. The defensive version of Cordarelle Patterson. His playbook has to be written in crayon.

Probably not going to go down as an all-time Steeler great.

Farewell Justin, we hardly knew ye.

Nice, I think hes a rock solid depth option.

Really could end up as a starter one day

How awesome would it have been if Holliman and Grant worked out?....

Maybe Holliman wasnt ready to play but damn it would have been nice if he showed something that going into year three he could be there along side Sean Davis and Mike Mitchell

I think Sidney Jones is my guy right now at 30. A lot of big names in the corner class from bigger programs but I like Jones a lot. A bit wiry like Kevin Johnson was a few years ago but Jones and Burns could be the future at CB finally after a long, painful search

There were some rumors about him not coming back the last couple of days.

Something about him not having been offered his tender yet and his apartment is up for sale. Glad the dots did not connect and it was BS.

We are set up for a nice draft, even at 30. Edge, CB, TE, RB are all deep.

I took Jones yesterday in a simulator with Harris and Njoku still available at 30.

I'd really love to get a pass rusher to put opposite Bud. There should be a solid one at 30. That's my number one need but I would not be upset with a quality CB

@dlolleyor: Colbert said working on a new deal with Brown is priority because they promised it to him last year #Steelers. They want him to retire here

@jimwexell: "We want Antonio Brown to return as a Steeler just like we want LeVeon Bell to remain a Steeler."

@jimwexell: "Antonio's the only one we're in specific negotiations with."

@jimwexell: "We have no reservations about LeVeon." If Steelers franchise him, they have till July 15 to extend, as they desire.

@dlolleyor: #Steelers are looking forward to seeing Ladarius Green back on the field according to Colbert

@jimwexell: Return of Senquez Golson "won't stop us from adding a guy" in the secondary

@dlolleyor: Colbert said the two injuries that Senquez Golson has suffered are a factor, especially foot injury. #Steelers could draft DB early

@dlolleyor: Colbert said #Steelers would love to have Landry Jones back at QB. Same with Timmons. But could let those guys test FA market.

Just curious. Which edge guy are you hoping for at this point. I have spent more time looking at CBs so far but have also watched tape of Harris and the Temple kid.

Honestly there's so many potential pass rushers that could be there, they're all kind of a blur to me at this point. I haven't really done much "scouting" as of right now, but I'll be sure to before the combine. I'd add Haason Reddick and Carl Lawson to Train's list, but like I said it's just a giant list of edge prospects that I need to weed through.

In the mock I mentioned above, I chose Watt in the second round.

I have to admit that at least part of that is due to my man crush on his brother. Lol

Its clay matthews syndrome...he might not be quite ready or quite the prospect you draft him as but youre taking a chance on bloodlines lol

Matthews went through a bit more dramatic change at USC, Watt has to do some physical maturing that matthews had nearly maxed out on at this point but still, intriguing nonetheless

It looks like the Steelers are talking with Villy for a new deal. It's a good move.

He is a ERFA this year, meaning we can pay him minimum and there is nothing he can do but refuse to play. He is a restricted FA in 2018, again limiting his options and leverage. He is due a big payday in 2019 but will be 31, which can be diffused with a new deal. Give him 5 years with only "big money" for three, which can be diffused for cap purposes over five.

Just throwing out general numbers for illustration.
    2017-$1 million
    2018-$2.5 million
    2019-2021-$8 million each

That would be $27.5 million over 5. They can spread that out in any manner they think is best for the cap.

I can't begin to articulate what a find and cap saver he is. We have a quality LT for peanuts and are likely to have him for 5 more seasons until he is 33. It's huge. One of those things never remembered by the "Tomlin/Colbert sucks!" crowd.

Watt scares me. He seems like a try hard guy but he doesn't have anywhere near the size or ability of his brother. If he was "Joe Smith" he probably goes undrafted.

    Look up Reddick.

He is the first that I watched but I like him more and more as I watch the others. So freaking athletically gifted.

He is going to jump up boards after the combine. I bet well out of our range. He would be a versatile guy who could move all over.

Everyone and their mothers have him going to us right now. Not so sure I like it. I mean, he is an intruiging prospect, but he is not a natural passrusher, not very good against the run. He is extremely good in coverage though.
Then again, Maybe we need to get better in coverage.
